Our Story

Three years ago we were travelling in Central America and came across this property. The place was the perfect setup for our long-time dream of creating a glamping site! We believed in the project and with the support and energy of our children, family and many friends, Colina Secreta was born.

We’ve always imagined that our place should be, not only a place to share with friends and travellers but a place that can impact the local community in a positive way. For example buying local products, educational activities, such as how to manage the garbage or permaculture technics. Just to give you an example, thanks to the support of Sloth Conservation and Connected Gardens, we are planting almond trees in our mountain reserve which are essential for the future of the endangered green macaw.

We hope that in our place you will find those magic moments that make life so special, from reading a book while it’s raining, or having breakfast spotting the toucans or just wandering around this fantastic region… and why not find inspiration and relax, maybe taking the first steps toward your own project or dream…

A hidden hill rich with history and soul

The Property

Settled within 6 acres of an old cacao plantation, still giving ground to some of the old cacao trees, you will find Colina Secreta Glamping and Villas, just 1.6 km from the best Caribbean beaches.

The property now contains the charming Hotel Glamping in a private jungle reserve, the perfect base to explore the Costa Rica Caribbean region, pristine nature and wildlife, incredible beaches, and a Jamaican reggae cultural heritage.

he main house is a colonial-style villa that was inhabited for 20 years, where wildlife lived undisturbed. In 2018 the new owners started the project and after carefully remodelling and refurbishing, it is now showing its best to all visitors.

There are 2 luxury rooms, that have a beautiful verandah to enjoy timeless moments, one cottage “The Belvedere House”, one house “Casa Picasso” and 9 glamping tents. There is a nature trail for you to enjoy walking through the reserve, where you can see monkeys, toucans, and more.
