Colina Secreta Glamping & Villas – Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica

We kindly ask you to read the following terms and conditions, which govern your stay at Colina Secreta Glamping & Villas. By making a reservation through our website or any official channel, you fully accept these terms without exceptions.

RATES

  • All rates are per room, per night, and are shown in US dollars.

  • For local payments in Costa Rican colones, the official exchange rate of the day will apply.

  • Rates do not include the 13% VAT (Value Added Tax).

  • Prices and room details are subject to change without prior notice.

RESERVATIONS

Reservations can be made through our website colinasecreta.com, by phone at +506 8350 9066, or via WhatsApp at the same number.
A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking.

DEPOSIT POLICY

To secure your reservation, a 50% deposit is required via:

  • Bank transfer

  • Credit card

  • PayPal

All promotional or special offers also require a 50% deposit. The remaining balance must be paid at check-in.
Only payments made directly to Colina Secreta are valid. We do not authorize any third party to receive payments on our behalf.

CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT

  • Valid ID is required: Passport for foreigners, National ID for Costa Rican citizens.

  • Check-in: From 3:00 p.m.

  • Check-out: By 11:00 a.m.
    Guests are welcome to use common areas after check-out and may leave luggage for same-day pickup.

Late check-out:
Upon request and subject to availability:

  • Half-day rate or

  • $30 USD per hour per person

CANCELLATION, DATE CHANGE & NO SHOW POLICY

Cancellations:

  • More than 15 days before arrival: 100% refund

  • 8 to 14 days before arrival: 50% refund

  • 7 days or less: No refund
    Non-refundable and special rate bookings are not eligible for refunds.

Date Changes:

  • 30+ days before check-in: Free date change (subject to availability and current rate)

  • Within 29 days: 20% penalty + any price difference

  • If no new date is chosen: A credit will be issued in the original booking currency

Transferability:

Reservations can be transferred to another guest for a 20% fee, with at least 48 hours’ notice prior to arrival.

No Show or Early Departure:

No refunds. 100% of the paid amount will be charged as cancellation.

All changes must be communicated via email to reception@colinasecreta.hoteleriadigital.com.

MINIMUM STAY REQUIREMENTS

  • Low & High Season: 1-night minimum stay

  • Peak Season (Christmas, New Year, Easter, National Holidays): 2-night minimum

PARKING POLICY

  • Free parking is available for all guests.

  • Visitors not staying at the hotel will be charged $10 per day.

  • The hotel is not liable for theft, damage, or loss involving vehicles or their contents, including pets or personal items left inside.

LUGGAGE

Colina Secreta is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged luggage or belongings. We recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover such risks.

IN-ROOM SAFES

Each unit includes a free safe for valuables up to $1,200 USD.
If you carry items of greater value, please request use of the hotel’s main security safe at reception (receipt provided).
The hotel is not liable for losses unless valuables were deposited with a receipt at reception.

CHILD POLICY

Colina Secreta is ideal for families who appreciate peace and nature. Children must remain quiet and respectful, especially in shared spaces like the pool and garden.

  • Children over 6 years are welcome and pay adult rate.

  • Children under 6 are considered case by case.

  • Belvedere House and Casa del Artista welcome children.

  • Glamping tents are elevated and require close parental supervision.

  • Birds Room and Palms Room are for adults only.

PET POLICY

  • Pets are not allowed in the Main House Rooms.

  • Pets must always be on a leash.

  • Do not leave pets unattended in tents or rooms.

  • Owners must clean up after their pets.

  • Pets are not allowed on beds or furniture.

  • Barking must be minimized to respect other guests.

VISITORS

For safety reasons, visitors are not allowed in guest rooms unless registered at reception.
All visits must take place in the lobby or common areas.

LOST & DAMAGED PROPERTY

Colina Secreta is not responsible for any loss or damage to guest property.
Safes are provided at your own risk. The hotel is not liable in the case of armed theft, force majeure, or natural events.

RESTRICTED ITEMS

The following are not allowed:

  • Weapons or sharp objects

  • Cooking appliances or heating equipment
    Unauthorized items may be confiscated by hotel management during the stay.

GUEST CONDUCT

Guests must speak in a low voice and behave respectfully at all times.
From 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., we kindly ask for quiet time.
No loudspeakers, amplified sound, or music is allowed.
Phones must be on silent or used with headphones.

Inappropriate conduct may result in immediate cancellation of the reservation.
This includes but is not limited to:

  • Excessive noise or disturbing behavior

  • Cutting plants, disturbing or attempting to touch wildlife

  • Using drugs or smoking in prohibited areas

  • Walking shirtless or in swimsuits in common areas

  • Intoxicated or disruptive behavior

EARLY TERMINATION OF STAY

In the event of rule violation, Colina Secreta reserves the right to end the reservation.
Guests must vacate immediately and pay for any damages before departure. Legal action may be pursued if payment is not made.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Colina Secreta is located within a 6-acre nature reserve with uneven trails, steep areas, and wild animals. Guests with limited mobility or health conditions should inform reception in advance for appropriate room assignment.

The hotel is not liable for accidents (falls, bites, or natural events).
By staying at Colina Secreta, you irrevocably release 3-102769592 SRL and its affiliates from any legal claims related to accidents, illness, or damage during your stay. This includes incidents due to natural forces, personal negligence, or unforeseen events.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Costa Rica. While available in French and English, the Spanish version prevails for all legal purposes.
